- It’s Lonely at the Top – (For Pastors, Assistant & Associate Pastors only) -- The Pastoral Ministry although a very rewarding assignment can be very lonely. It has been said that “A friend is someone who knows all about you, and is still your friend”. How many in leadership are so afraid to let anyone in that they are literally suffering inside? In this session we will examine the need for a few good friends to share our deepest fears, regrets, struggles, joys, and dreams, and the dangers we face, when we don’t have them.
- Engaging Evangelism Strategies -- In his book Managing the Non-Profit Organization, Peter Drucker stated that “Good intentions don’t move mountains, bulldozers do.” In other words, visions and mission statements are only good when put into action. The call to evangelism is often met with trepidation because of the mindset of this post-modern world. This workshop session will look at evangelism strategies that will engage and encourage members to reach out to fulfill the Great Commission. In this session, we will examine proven evangelism strategies for achieving the Great Commission.
- Stir Up the Gift of God in You -- No one can beat you being you. Why is that? Because, only you were gifted to be you. Unfortunately, we minimize our gift by comparing it to someone else’s, or we waste so much time emulating someone else’s gift that we neglect developing our own. God has given each of us at least one gift and in most cases several. This workshop session with discuss how to stir (wake up, mobilize) the gift that is within you and will also give tools to assist others through empowerment towards the full utilization of the gift of God in them. In this session, we will be challenged to mature our own God given gifts for the cause of Christ.
- How to operate in the Flow of Worship -- The role of the worship leader is important as they are tasked with leading and engaging the congregation in worship. This workshop session will provide tools for worship leaders, praise and worship singers and others in operating effectively in the flow of Worship.
- Effective Event Planning -- The skills of an event planner are essential for ministry leaders, church administrators and workers in ensuring that ministry events are planned effectively and efficiently. This workshop session will provide tools and guidelines to enable successful events. Consider that your worship service is a weekly event!
Breakout Session II – 1:15 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
- Principled Decision Making – (For Pastors, Assistant & Associate Pastors only) Decision-making is an important part of the role and assignment of those in Pastoral Leadership. A principle does not change just because circumstances do, and we as Christian leaders cannot rationalize them away, no matter how difficult a spot we are in. This session will inspire participants to have the courage of their convictions, even if it could alter the desired outcome.
- Effective Leadership for Ministry Engagement – Leadership is a key element in the furtherance of the goals of any organization. This workshop will discuss the necessity of leadership, what is a leader, what are the tasks and responsibilities of leaders and the leadership tools essential for ministry engagement.
- Safeguarding our Moral Conduct – God chose man to embody holiness, to be temples of the Holy Ghost. Deuteronomy 7:26a warns: Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing, like it... This session will challenge us to avoid spiritual pollution by consistently taking the high ground of holiness.
- The Multiplicity of Ministry – Ministry in the church is not just a single individual (or even a couple) who does it all while everyone else cheers them on. The Body is made up of multiple members, each having a ministry. This session will deal with the incorporation of these many members of the Body for the edification and multiplication of the Body of Christ.
- We Didn’t Practice that…Flowing in the Spirit – The role of the musician is that of ministering; it is not merely to sing a few nice choruses"(Kerry Wright). In this session we will discover how being sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading in music ministry edifies the body of Christ.
- Contemporary Legal Issues Facing the Church – The Legal system changes frequently and more and more there are issues that affect the church and its ministry. This workshop session will identify contemporary legal issues facing the church and give information to assist churches in negotiating legal decisions.
Breakout Session III – 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Take What you Have, Make What You Want: Starting from Scratch – (For Pastors, Assistant & Associate Pastors only) -- How often have we heard, “Our church can’t do that . We just don’t have the resources.” Brandon Cox says: “A lack of resources is merely an opportunity to be extra creative.” This exciting workshop will challenge its participants to “do ministry” while waiting on the perfect conditions.
- Making Your Guests Welcome – Have you ever heard it said that “The pastor and his wife were nice, but the members were cold?” Why on earth are we huddling with those we already know after service? Hospitality is a key component in making guests feel welcome. This workshop session will give practical tools and suggestions for improving and enhancing your ability to make guest feel welcome in your church. Techniques for making visitors feel welcome from start to finish, and emphasize that this is primarily the responsibility of members will also be shared.
- Understanding & Discovering Spiritual Gifts – Each person has at least one spiritual gift, however most don’t know what their gift is and does not understand how to properly utilize their gift. This workshop session will assist attendees in the discovery and understanding of their spiritual gifts.
- The Humility of a Musician – Unfortunately too many of today’s musicians operate with the notion that they are irreplaceable. As servants of The Most High God, church musicians are challenged to be set apart from the mentality of the world. We do this not only through our skills as a musician, but as persons who have the deepest respect for the God we serve, and for those hiring us and their vision for the music ministry. This session will challenge musicians to abandon pride and think about their gift on an entirely selfless level.
- Effective Church Administration – The efficient and effective management of the church is essential to ministry. This workshop session will give practical tools and guidelines for those who serve in the area of administration. Those who are interested in enhancing their administrative skills would benefit greatly from information shared in this session.
