Bishop Carl A. Pierce, Sr., a Tyler Junior College and University of Houston graduate, formally entered the ministry in 1986 and was ordained and Elder in 1989. On July 2, 2000 at the demise of his predecessor, the late Bishop Frank James Ellis, Bishop Pierce was appointed to the office of Senior Pastor of Carter Memorial Church Of God In Christ where he has led the ministry to exceptional growth expanding its territory and ministry outreach.
His commitment and passion for ministry is obvious by his continual response and execution of the many ministerial assignments and responsibilities relegated to him. A dedicated servant of the Lord, he was consecrated to the Office of Auxiliary Bishop in 2017, and later appointed Jurisdictional Prelate of Maryland Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction in November 2018 by the Presiding Bishop and General Board of the Church Of God In Christ, Inc. Bishop Pierce serves the Church Of God In Christ in numerous capacities to include: Chairman of the National Elections Commission, Member of the Executive Committee of the General Assembly, Vice Chairman of the National Leadership Conference, Assistant Regional Bishop of the East Region, and serves the Board of Bishops as a Team Member of its Enhancement and Professional Training Program. As an active participant in city and state governmental affairs, Bishop Pierce is often being called upon to participate in dialog with state and city leaders regarding the plight of city, state and national concerns, and is an avid conduit in the community towards impacting lives for abundant living. In addition, he regularly lectures and facilitates ministry symposiums to pastors and ministry workers on the development, expansion and sustaining of ministries through effective succession protocol and planning. Bishop Pierce shares his accomplishments, dreams and vision with his daughter, Tiffany, son, Carl, II, and his two grandchildren, Xavier and Skylar. |
