Bishop Granville A. Senior, a member of the College of Bishops of United Church of Jesus Christ and Diocesan Bishop of the 3rd Episcopal Diocese, is the Senior Pastor of United Church of Jesus Christ, Bronx, New York. Bishop Senior commenced his career on the island of Jamaica as a teacher of both primary and secondary school education. After migrating to the United States in 1976, he continued his academic pursuit, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting Major), from Manhattan College and a Master of Science Degree in Accounting from Lehman College, City University of New York. In 2016, he graduated from Nyack Alliance Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree, majoring in Urban Theology. Bishop Senior is a visionary. He embraces most challenges with the fervor and rigor of a soldier and recognizes that he is only a channel through which God’s battles are won. He is very much community-oriented and in addition to his passion for the proclamation of the gospel, he embraces the concept of a holistic ministry, catering to the needs of the whole man – spiritual, socio-economic, emotional, and more. Over and beyond all the aforementioned fine qualities that define Bishop Senior, he is a servant leader who “loves the Lord God with all his heart, mind, soul, and his neighbor as himself.” Bishop Senior is married to Paulette Senior, and they are the proud parents of two wonderful children, Steve and Patrice, and grandchild, Preston.
